  • Improving Treatment of SUD and Co-occurring Disorders in Youth
    MARC FISHMAN, MD, Medical Director and CEO, Maryland Treatment Centers; Associate Professor, Psychiatry, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
    • Objectives:
      1. Recognize trends in youth substance use disorder 
      2. Identify approaches to treatment for youth with SUD and co-occurring psychiatric disorders 
      3. Understand strategies for improving engagement for youth and families in SUD and co-occurring treatment 

  • Breaking the Cycle: Substance Use Disorders and Support in Perinatal Care
    DENIS ANTOINE, MD, Program Director and Medical Director, Addiction Treatment Services Clinic / Center for Addiction and Pregnancy, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
    • Objectives:
      1. Identify the prevalence, risk factors, and societal impact of substance use disorder during pregnancy and postpartum in diverse populations. 
      2. Gain knowledge on evidence-based interventions, including pharmacologic therapies (e.g., medication-assisted treatment) and behavioral approaches tailored to the perinatal population. 
      3. Understand how to coordinate care among obstetrics, pediatrics, Behavioral Health specialists, and social services to optimize clinical and psychosocial outcomes for mothers and infants. 

Statement of Credit (ACPE)

This course is eligible for 4.0 ACPE credits. Continuing education credit information will be uploaded to CPE Monitor where you will be able to view and print your credits. The statement of credit should be retained as proof of attendance in the event of an audit by the State Board of Pharmacy. To receive ACPE credits, participants must provide the month and day of birth and NABP e-Profile ID# at registration, log in to seminar with full name, and turn in an evaluation form for the presentation attended following the program. It may take up to 60 days for credit to be posted.    

CME Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, the Maryland Department of Health Office of Pharmacy Services, and Acentra Health. MedChi is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

CME Designation

MedChi designates this live course for a maximum of four AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credits will be reported and managed on CME Passport, so participants need to create an account on CME Passport (https://cmepassport.org/register) so that CME credit can be reported. It may take up to 60 business days for CME credit to be issued.

There is no fee for attending, however, all attendees must register in advance of the seminar. For those applying for continuing education credits, full attendance is required and an evaluation form must be submitted following the seminar. The seminar will be recorded, however, credits can only be received if attending the live event.
